Graphic
Software - Adobe Photoshop 7.0
by
Walter Jr. Shustikov
When
it comes to graphic designing software, just think Adobe
Photoshop. All the graphics you see on the web, posters,
CD covers, magazines covers, books, illustrations, etc.
All of them were most likely made in Photoshop!
I
got my first Photoshop copy back in 2000, version 5.0.
Here is a little story of how I got into Photoshop and
graphic design. I asked one of my friends to make a splash
page for me, to use on my first web site that I was working
on. (He told me he was decent at making graphics). When
he showed me the splash page, it looked very amazing to
me, and I decided to learn how to make things like that
on my own, without even knowing how to draw ;) It's been
about three years since, I now own my own copy of Photoshop
7.0 and enjoy all its great new features.
What's
really great about Photoshop is how many goodies you can
get for free after you get your own copy. It's very flexible,
which means you can create your own Photoshop brushes, styles,
actions, gradients, filters and other customizations which
you can save and use later. Well you can create them, but
you can also download literally thousands of them for free
all around the web.
There
are a lot of things for which you would want to use Photoshop,
for example: restoring or colorizing old photos, making
web graphics and logos, making wallpapers, splash screens,
cd and book covers, posters, drawings, and anything else
graphical that you can think of. Since Photoshop is so popular
among graphic designers, it has became the standard graphic
designing software for making web graphics among many web
site designers, including myself. There are thousands of
Photoshop tutorials that you can learn from, and there are
web sites that teach you how to make great special effects
and web graphics using Photoshop. That is another reason
why you should consider Photoshop for your graphic software
instead of other alternatives.
So
Photoshop is the best graphic software out there? And there
are no down sides to it at all? Actually only one, it's
somewhat expensive - $600 but trust me, it's worth every
penny! I suggest that you only buy it if you feel like you're
going to learn it and create a lot of graphics.
