What does ftp stand for? FTP -
File Transfer Protocol. There are several programs out
there that lets you download and upload files using FTP.
One of the most popular programs is CuteFTP, another one
is WS FTP. Both of these programs are good, I think that
WS FTP is better, it has never crashed on me unliked CuteFTP
and it always finishes uploading as many files as you
have queued up. You never know what to expect from CuteFTP,
it will show you bogus errors and crash...So I recommend
using WS FTP or simply use your browser, it works just
fine. To access FTP server using your browser simply use
ftp:// instead of the usual http:// (EX: ftp://hostname.com@user:password)
that's how you would access an ftp server using your browser.
